\r
The review of the Rolex Batman was definitely long overdue! More formerly known as the Rolex GMT Master II 116710 BLNR, the Batman is a watch thats in high demand in the the world of watch collecting.\r
\r
As I mentioned on my previous GMT video review, the Rolex GMT became one of my favorite Rolex models from the moment my dad gave me one for my 18th birthday. Nevertheless, the Batman is a special kind of GMT. It just looks different.\r
\r
While the standard, stainless steel Rolex GMT II comes with a black ceramic bezel, the Batman doesnt. It ually sports the colors of Batman: blue and black.\r
\r
This is one of the biggest differences when compared with the standard, stainless GMT, as both GMT models [other than for some visual cues] are prially the same (40mm diameter, ceramic bezel, etc.). Using a process that Rolex developed, the Swiss watch manufurer is now able to apply a two-color blend to the bezel of their watches. This is how the Rolex 116710BLNR gets its superhero appearance.\r
\r
There are some other visual differences when it comes to the Rolex Batman. The ual GMT (or dual timezone) hand comes in blue instead of green. The Batman dial also displays the phrase “GMT-MASTER II” in white instead of green over the 6 oclock marker.\r
\r
Rolex Batman Price\r
\r
A good price for a pre-owned Rolex Batman watch is from $8,200 to $8,300. For a brand new watch, you might pay a price thats between $9,400 to $10,000.\r
\r
The reason that the price of a new Rolex 116710 BLNR is relatively closer to the price of a pre-owned version is DEMAND. In the watch industry, the demand for the Batman is high and has been steady or rising for years. When many clients want to buy one, they cant find the watch easily.\r
\r
This is also the reason why a Batman fetches a nice premium when compared to the standard stainless steel GMT II, which can be found preowned for close to $6,750.\r
\r
GMT Batman and the Watch Game!\r
\r
The Rolex Batman is a very versatile watch. You can wear it with a suit or with shorts. Its good both on water and land.\r
\r
The black and blue bezel on the Batman definitely enhances the overall appearance of the watch, bumping it up at least a notch in the Watch Game. Not that theres anything wrong with the standard black-bezel GMT, but the Batman just has a different level of appeal to it.\r
\r
I love the Rolex GMT II Batman so much, that I dare to say that it has almost replaced the stigma and status of the stainless Daytona!\r
