5 - The Dragon of Qijiang \r
In 2006 some construction workers in China discovered what appeared to be dragon bones. Again scientists were quick to label the unique discovery as a new species of dinosaur. The neck of the creature is said to be 15 meters long with the fossils dating back some 160 million years ago, the late Jurassic period. The elongated body of the beast is said to resemble the Chinese sky dragons and sea serpents of ancient legends. As the head, neck and tail of the strange creature were discovered together, but there were no signs of fossils of legs or of hands. It is believed that this newly discovered reptilian-like species may have lived in extreme isolation from the rest of the world. Could dragon hunters have pushed the poor creatures into \r

4 - Dragon of the Sea\r
During the early 19th century a vertebra was sent to the American Philosophical Society by a judge in Arkansas and another judge in Alabama. Eventually, the fossils ended up in the hands of anatomist Richard Harlan. The bones were found lying in a curved line measuring upwards of four hundred feet in length as well as a piece of a tooth. The vertebrae was thought to be similar to a Plesiosaurus but contained mysterious differences such as dimensions of the bones and the fragments of jaw and teeth. The creature was dubbed the King Lizard or the Basilosaurus. Which many at the time suspected were the remains of a massive sea serpent. over 500 skeletal remains similar to this creature have been found since, however, the bones seem inconsistent with many modern day ideas about dinosaurs. These bizarre fossils continue to be debated to this day as to authenticity and ancestry. Could they have right all along and these remnants of bones ually belong to Sea Serpents? Better known by many as dragons of the sea. The Basilosaurus is still on display inside the National Museum of Natural history in Washington DC. Just look at that skeleton, looks an awful lot like dragons from stories and paintings, does it not?\r

3 - Quarry Dragon\r
A flying dinosaur said to resemble an extremely large chicken who lived somewhere around 150 million years ago was dug up in China in a quarry near the North Korean border. Some say the fossils are the earliest known relative to the birds we have today, only bigger and more reptilian in nature. Another similar discovery was made in Germany preserved in limestone in 1861. Scientists claim these finds represent the evolution and transition between reptiles and birds. These sharp-toothed creatures with long bony tails contain wishbones and are theorised to have had feathers similar to birds, or, quite possibly, dragons. One scientist said this discovery could very well be the single origin of powered flight. Dino-birds have been discovered in this region before and there are now dozens of types of these theorised species, but these mixed breed creatures which bar chareristic of both reptiles and birds sure do sound like dragons. \r

2 - Mud Dragons\r
This next possible example that dragons may once have been very real dates back to new, when fossils were discovered in South China which date back to the Cambrian period. The discovery was published in Scientific Reports and claims the remnants are related to arthropods which include insects, arachnids and crustaceans called kinos. Kinos feature exoskeletons and segmented bodies but not jointed legs, though the official name they are calling these discovered creatures are mud dragons. These feathered dinosaurs lived around 66 to 72 million years ago, right before the massive extinction which took place, but the fossil records dates back more than 530 million years. The elongated name is muddy dragon on the road to heaven, named so due to the idea that this creature died after getting stuck in the mud, that and the obvious similarities to dragons from ancient stories. The mud dragon is the sixth species to be found in the Ganzhou area and was about the size of a large sheep or donkey. Could this dragon be the real deal? \r

1 - Dragons on Mars\r
Ok, this may sound like a stretch, but faith is all about believing in the impossible, remember for the longest time people knew beyond a doubt that the Earth was flat, so you just never really know. Online fantasy fans are rejoicing at what some are calling a discovery of the fossilised remains of dragons on the surface of the red planet. This happened in new after some rather fuzzy looking photos surfaced taken from the Mars Curiosity Rover. Some say the bones look more like the petrified remains of an extraterrestrial. Others say perhaps its a hybrid creat
