Natalie Wood’s Husband Robert Wagner Marked As Person Of Interest In Mysterious Death

Robert Wagner, the husband of the late Natalie Wood, had been marked a person of interest in her mysterious drowning death.

As RadarOnline.com has learned from a CBS report, investigators have reopened the shocking case, and have found reason to believe it could have been a murder. Since Wagner was the last person to see Wood before her passing, he is now being treated as a person of interest, according to the LA County Sheriff.

Investigators now want to interrogate Wagner to see what he really knows about Wood’s 1981 drowning. The updates will be revealed on CBS’ Natalie Wood: Death in Dark Water broadcast on February 3.

"As we've investigated the case over the last six years, I think he's more of a person of interest now," Lieutenant John Corina says of Robert Wagner in a tell-all interview with 48 Hours. "I mean, we know now that he was the last person to be with Natalie before she disappeared."

As Radar previously reported, Wood’s lifeless body was found floating at sea after she went missing following a yacht trip with Wagner and another male pal.

While the death was initially ruled as an accident, it is now being treated as a possible homicide, since an autopsy showed Wood looked like "a victim of an assault” at the time of her demise.

"We have not been able to prove this was a homicide. And we haven't been able to prove that this was an accident, either," Detective Ralph Hernandez says in the clip. "The ultimate problem is we don't know how she ended up in the water."

Robert Wagner, 87, has refused to speak to homicide detectives since the case was reopened.
