People entering Taj Mahal complex for prayers on Fridays will now have to carry their ID cards to prove that they are residents of Agra city, else they will not be allowed to pray. The district administration issued a directive that no outsiders will be allowed and only "local" will be allowed to pray there. The move is reportedly a fall out of complaints that "outsiders", including Bangladeshis and "non-Indians" were also entering the mosque, despite it being closed for visitors.
