Four Ohio teens are accused of throwing a sandbag off a Toledo, Ohio Interstate 75 overpass on Tuesday, critically injuring a man below, reports the Detroit News.
According to authorities, the bag crashed through a vehicle's windshield and struck a 22-year-old passenger, notes People.
The victim is said to have suffered head injuries and is now listed in critical condition.
The teens, ages 13 to 14, have been charged with felonious assault and are being held at the Lucas County Juvenile Detention Center.
WTVG reports a judge ruled that the suspects stay there over the Christmas holiday.
"The reason that we asked them to be held today is because the person that is in the hospital will not be home for Christmas which means that these youths should also not be home for Christmas," Lori Olender, the county juvenile prosecutor, told the media outlet.
An arraignment has been scheduled for December 29.
