Currently releasing her debut single, Burcu Kisakurek has been singing and performing in several choirs and music bands since her childhood. During her school and adult life, she has studied with reputable Turkish teachers such as Gokcen Koray, Selahattin Evci and Celik Kasapoglu. She founded her own band in London where she lived for 3 years.
Since 2009, she has been a choir and solo singer in 'Ladies and Gentlemen Istanbul' and 'A Few Ladies' musical groups. She has had the privilege of performing in amazing arenas such as Cemal Resit Rey, Harbiye Open Air Theatre and Inonu Stadium with 'Istanbul Symphonic Project' and 'Ladies and Gentlemen Istanbul'.
Burcu Kisakurek’s debut album, where lyrics and music of all 9 songs are her own creation, will be released within the first months of 2016.
Burcu Kisakurek says “hello” to music lovers with her debut single “Sen Giderken”. Lyrics and the music of the song is created by Burcu Kisakurek, teamed with Celik Kasapoğlu. The musical arrangement is made by Eser Taskiran. Burcu’s friends from Ladies and Gentlemen Istanbul Musical Ensemble has accompanied her with back vocals.
Sen Giderken is a melancholic song, talking about the pain everyone sometimes experiences with the lost of loved ones. Burcu, who describes herself as a positive and happy person says, “all emotions must be acknowledged and expressed. Sometimes the best cure is to talk about it and let it out, even if with screams.”
Burcu Kisakurek, who has been involved with music since childhood, is also a businesswoman. She is the managing partner of a reputable tourism company. Now, making her dream come true, she is sharing her first single with the world.
This single is also a forerunner for her new album, which will be released in winter months and awe the music lovers with its alternative and surprise arrangements.
