Şenay, born in Kiel Germany, has started her first musical studies in the school choir and the school band. She attended Pera Academy of Fine Arts, where she studied Musical and Drama. She studied at the European Studies Department of Istanbul University.
She had the oppurtunity to work together with many prominent jazz musicians in Istanbul, Selçuk Sun, Şenova Ülker, Yaz Baltacıgil, İmer Demirer, Neşet Ruacan, Aydın Esen, Okay Temiz to name a few.
She attended joint projects in Boston with Milli Bermeyo in 1997 and participated in the Sheila Jordan’svocal workshop in Harvard. After returning to Istanbul, she continued her vocal studies with Randy. In 1998 she attended Department of Music at Yıldız Teknik University Faculty of Art and Design. She was Yıldız Dağdelen’s student at singing class.
In 2000, she participated in the recording of Ilyas Mirsayev’s jazz album in Kiev, Ukraine, as well as in the concerts, as part of the same project.
She completed her master’s degree at Yıldız TechnicalUniversity, Institute of Social Studies in 2005.
She took part in the Turkish rock album of Cem Koksal entitled ‘Siyah Beyaz Masallar’ in 2007 and sang as a jazz vocalist in Beck's Big Band (est.2002) project concerts.
She completed her master’s degree at Yıldız Technical University, Institute of Social Studies in 2005.
She performed at the 19th IstanbulJazzFestival with the French trumpet artist Mederic Collignonfor. She took part in “Kampüste Caz” (Jazz at the Campus) concerts organized as a part of the 23rd Akbank Jazz Festival.
She released three albums: ‘İçimde aşk var’(2012), ‘Zarf Tümleci’ (2014) and "Başka türlü bir şey" (2015).
The new album published by Sony music includes songs from famous poets from Turkish literature such as Hayyam, Nazım Hikmet, Can Yücel, Füruğ Feruğzah and some songs from popular songwriters such as Derya Köroğlu, İlhan Şeşen, Mehmet Güreli, Özdemir Erdoğan etc.
