New ATMs Give Clean Water Instead Of Cash

An NGO is building water ATMs in towns and cities around India. There are over 60 million people in India who lack access to clean water, so Piramal Sarvajal build the ATMs to give some areas 24/7 access for the first time.
The ATMs are available for use around the clock and are solar-powered. They’re also connected to a network for constant monitoring of water quality.
Piramal Sarvajal accepts cards or cash for the water, which sells for as little as 12 cents per gallon. Though too many Indians continue to drink dirty water, these ATMs hope to turn the tide.
