The December 4 SpaceX supply flight to the International Space Station will be carrying some Budweiser barley experiments.
The samples will spend a month there and then be ferried back to Earth for further study.
The goal is to determine how the beer ingredient fares in microgravity and hopefully offer further insights into what it would take to successfully brew beer on Mars, notes Fortune.
Budweiser has noted that the conditions and limited resources on the Red Planet would likely result in a beer that is "foamy slop."
It would clearly like to avoid that and instead offer a beverage suitable for a "toast on Mars."
