Fake hate crime dupes U.S. general into anti-racism speech

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO — A student has reportedly left a prestigious U.S. Air Force Academy prep school in Colorado after duping almost everybody.

The Air Force cadet candidate confessed to making hoax offensive slur messages that he initially claimed to be the victim of, reported the Air Force Times. He did it as part of a plan to get out of trouble he was already in, reported the Colorado Gazette, citing sources inside the prep school.

After news of the messages broke in September the academy's superintendent, Lt Gen. Jay Silveria made a speech, telling bigots to get out of the school. That speech went viral and generated millions of views across YouTube.
