NEW ORLEANS — Two Boston tourists were viciously beaten and robbed by a group of four people in the French Quarter over the weekend.

Surveillance footage shows James Curran and Tim Byrne walking down the sidewalk around 9 p.m. on Saturday when they are rushed from behind by two men, WWLTV reported.

Curran gets put in a chokehold and wrestled to the ground, while Byrne gets treated to a brutal suckerpunch.

Two other individuals then run up to join the first two attackers. The four men then proceed to rob the two tourists of their wallets and phones, before running off.

The video then shows one of the suspects running back to the victims and pulling on Byrne’s shirt which reveals a pool of blood underneath his face.

The suspect then runs off again down the street.

Curran got a broken nose for his troubles, while Byrne was transported to University Medical Center where he remained in critical condition on Monday.

Dejuan Paul, 21, turned himself into police on Monday shortly after authorities released surveillance footage of the incident. Police are still looking for the other three suspects.
