Gatemouth - Climax JB 1996

Climax Jazz Band in Japan
I have been a member of the Climax Jazz Band almost from it's beginning in 1971. We lived and operated out of Toronto, Canada.
In 1996 we were invited to come to Japan to perform a number of concerts. We had large audiences, 5000-8000 per concert. In the opening tune of this concert we played Gatemouth, a tune originally from Johnny Dodds Wanderers, recorded in 1926. It has always been a tune I loved a lot and through my playing career it was usually on a performance program.
Next to me (Bob Erwig) on cornet we had Pieter Meijers on soprano sax, Len Gosling on trombone, Jack Vincken on banjo, Randy Morris piano, Chris Daniels bass and Jamie Aug drums.
