The last sections of a dying oak tree where the first US president, George Washington, picnicked during the American Revolution were removed on Wednesday, April 26.The removal work began on Monday.Spectators cheered and clapped as it “all went well and no damage” when the tree’s stump was pulled out, according to the author of this video.The 600-year-old tree in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, would not withstand upcoming “harsh winters or spring storms,” according to arborists, NBC New York reported.
