Burn Victims Use 3D Printed Skin to Help Wounds

Scientists in Madrid have discovered a way to 3D bio-print human skin. This is a revolutionary discovery for the skin-care world. The bio-printer can print two different types of skin. Regular skin and a skin made from an individual’s personal cells. The latter would be used for skin grafts and special skin conditions like severe burns. Joshua Zeichner, a dermatologist and director of cosmetic & clinical research in dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, stated, “The out skin layer provides a protective barrier for our bodies against the environment… this new technology will… be applied to chronic wounds and burns.”
