Ashim Ahluwalia On His Film 'Miss Lovely'

Director Ashim Ahluwalia said that he does not have a typical mainstream films background as he studied film-making in the US at a school, which was not very focused on Hollywood and had more of an art-house feel to it. he said that 'Miss Lovely' was initially intended to be a documentary on the C grade film industry, which churns out films high on sexual content for small town audiences. Ahluwalia claims that he researched a lot for the subject and also accompanied such filmmakers on their shoots and studied how such films are financed and other elements. on his choice of casting Nawaz, the director said that he was highly impressed with the actor after seeing him in films like 'Black Friday'
