The Secret World of Space Junk

Space debris is the collection of discarded man-made material that has been littering outer space since the ascent of Sputnik 1, the first artificial satellite, launched in 1957 by the Soviet Union. Since then it is estimated that there are 170 million individual pieces of space junk smaller than 1cm orbiting the earth. @ProjectAdrift is a new venture by artists Cath Le Couteur and Nick Ryan exploring the secret world of space debris.
