U.S. soccer suspends Hope Solo for 'cowards' remark
  • 8 years ago
U.S. Soccer terminated the contract of goalkeeper Hope Solo and issued a six-month suspension on Wednesday for what it called “conduct that is counter to the organization’s principles.” The disciplinary action comes in response to Solo calling Sweden a “bunch of cowards” after they beat the U.S. 4-3 during the Olympics. The move could signal the end of the 35-year-old’s illustrious national team career.
