2017 Kawasaki KX250F Review | First Ride

The goal of pretty much any kind of race machine is to be as powerful as possible, as light as possible, and as quick as possible. We aren’t saying that the 2017 Kawasaki KX250F has reached its pinnacle but it is moving in the right direction. With less weight via a lighter chassis and engine and new ergonomics, the KX250F has shaken off the "long and lazy" feel of the past year's models and now sports a quicker, more nimble feel. Changes to the engine were all about making everything lighter, freer, and quicker revving. And Kawasaki delivered on that goal. The power is crisp, exciting, and winds up to the rev limiter really quickly. Actually, there is any complaint about the power is that it might rev out too quickly. But, with different couplers and Kawasaki’s calibration tool there is a lot of adjustment available to fine tune the power delivery, as well as different flywheels available from Kawasaki.
