SEASIDE, OREGON — Police body camera footage released April 21 shows the moment gunfire broke out last February that ended with two deaths.

Seaside Oregon Police Sgt. Jason Goodding, 39, and officer David Davidson, who was wearing the body cam, were trying to take wanted felon Phillip Ferry, 55, into custody outside the Pig 'N Pancake restaurant downtown on Feb. 5.

Officers told Ferry to get on the ground. When he refused, Davidson used a taser gun. Ferry can be heard on the video saying, "you ain't gonna like it" before being shocked.
Investigators said Ferry fired a bullet from a .380-caliber pistol he had in his pocket. The bullet hit Goodding under his ballistic vest.

Davidson returned fire, shooting off seven seven bullets at Ferry. Ferry was hit three times. Goodding and Ferry later died at separate hospitals.

Toxicology results showed Ferry had a "high level" of methamphetamine and traces of marijuana in his system and a blood alcohol content of .117 percent at the time of the shooting. Ferry had a criminal history that landed him in the county jail more than three dozen times.
