The video, filmed in Jiuquan, Gansu Province last Friday, shows the giant storm moving slowly and ominously across the city.
According to local reports, visibility dropped to dangerous and the sandstorm took just ten minutes to engulf the whole city.
The storm also caused at least five car accidents.
