Apple TV and Chromecast gone from Amazon website

It would appear that Amazon wants nothing at all to stand in the way of its Fire TV streaming devices. Earlier this week, the company took down all Apple TV and Google Chromecast products from its online storefront. Yes indeed, the Apple TV and Chromecast have been pulled like the meat in a pulled pork sandwich, as Amazon no longer sells those two, and many other streaming devices, on its website. This is in an effort to inject some life into its Prime Video subscription stats, not to mention the sales of its Fire TV and Fire TV Stick. But if you're just reading about this now, Amazon had actually confirmed these plans early last month, when it said that it would be removing Apple TV and other competing streaming devices "to avoid customer confusion". Interestingly, Amazon has yet to explain why it never made any apps or channels for Apple TV, though some have speculated the company isn't willing to pay Apple the 30 percent content sales cut it requests.
