KTM 1050 Adventure | Review | 2015

KTM had first revealed that the 1050 Adventure will make it to the Indian market during the launch of the RC200 and the RC390. The biggest surprise though, is that the 1050 Adventure will be locally assembled at the Bajaj’s factory in Chakan, Pune, which means that we can expect a very lucrative price tag for the motorcycle. The 1050 Adventure will rival the Triumph Tiger Explorer, Kawasaki Versys 1000 and the Suzuki V-Strom.
Powering the 1050 Adventure will be a 1050cc 75 degree V-twin LC8 engine. The engine has been rated at 95 horsepower, which might not seem much when compared to the 160bhp adventure machines that are currently on sale. We expect KTM to offer a host of optional extras with the 1050 Adventure such as a GPS, alarm system, heated seat and grips.
The 1050 Adventure is the successor to KTM’s popular adventure motorcycle, the 990 Adventure. The litre-class adventure motorcycle was unveiled at the EICMA Show in Italy and is expected to be launched in India in the second half of next year.
