Mission Mount Everest - Official Teaser 2015
Sauraj & Samir, having spent a year planning and preparing for an expedition to Mt. Everest, were faced with one of the most horrific disasters in the history of mountaineering. On the 25th of April, 2015, a massive Avalanche, triggered by a 7.8 earthquake, tore through Everest Base Camp, Nepal, leaving in its wake, 19 dead and over 60 casualties. Buried by the avalanche, they emerged to see a trail of destruction which claimed even their camp. In the days to come they would be confronted between a choice to retreat down the valley to safer grounds or stay back...
Rather than calling for Heli Evac ( Helicopter Evacuation), they stayed and assisted in the relief effort. Unknown to then at the time, they attracted a lot of media attention, which they were unaware of. In his own words, “When we came back home, apparently, we had done something really great contrary to our personal beliefs.”
