Commercial maglev trains to operate soon
Urban magnetic levitation train that can travel at the speed of up to 110 km per hour is slated to be commercialized at Incheon International Airport in July. Built with pure Korean technologies, the 19-ton train uses magnetic force to float 8mm above the track to operate. Without any frictions with the track, the urban maglev train has outstanding economic feasibility as it doesn't cause much vibration and noise. Also, it costs less to maintain and repair when compared with conventional trains. We will find out more about the urban maglev train set to be commercialized in Korea for the second time in the world after Japan.
