Comet Lander Philae Unresponsive To Contact

The European Space Agency has reported that its comet Lander Philae has gone silent for some unknown reason since its last transmission on July 9th.

The European Space Agency reports that it has lost contact with its comet lander Philae, with the last transmission occurring on July 9th.

The reason for the disconnection is unknown, though the team is studying the data received on that day which includes a report about sunlight on the probe’s solar panels.

Because the data sent showed a shift in sun’s strength too great to be due to seasonal differences, it is believed that the lander or its antennae could be out of position and thus can’t communicate with its orbiter Rosetta.
