Taylor Swift - Style Drum Cover by Naufal Tisyadi

Hi my name is Naufal. I'm from Indonesia.

To be honest i planned to release the video on March, maybe two or three days after the official video released. But then the shooting didn't go as planned and i'm not satisfied with the result so i decide to do a re-shoot. But well oh well March and April is full of deadlines, i can't pick a date to do a re-shoot. Long story short i finally got my chance last week and go full speed on editing, so i can show you my work.

I kinda feel bummed that Taylor released another video before i got the chance to show you my cover of Style heheh, but well my bad.

About this song. When i first listened to the song, i know exactly that this song should sound stormy and rumbling. Is that make sense ? So with that idea in mind, i put up some linear pattern on the floor and tom. It sounds great and really add some power to the music (at least in my opinion). And toward the end i just feel like 'i should destroy something' kinda mood. I just need to rock toward the end. But the most difficult part is the verse part. I play some ghost note there and i suck at it. That''s why i failed the first shooting session. I really hope you enjoy this video :)

***IMPORTANT***
The sound of this video is not 100% live. I layered the recording of the drum with MIDI. Usually i only layered the snare, tom, and floor. but due to the technical error, the microphone doesn't get the cymbals sound clearly, so i decided to also layered it with MIDI. I put the MIDI in the exact time i hit the drum, so you can still hear me do a sloppy hit here and there (i want to provide the most authentic result with the resource i got).

I take the video several time. I did this to provide various angle. I only got one camera at the time. I played the exact drum part over and over again. I record the drum sound in one take.

I hope you enjoy it :)
