Murder suicide: Chef kills TS prostitute wife, cooks dismembered body in kitchen

Police in Brisbane, Australia, are investigating the deaths of a young couple in an apparent murder suicide uncovered on Saturday. Marcus Peter Volke, from the Australian state of Victoria, and Mayang Prasetyo, from Bali, in Indonesia, met while working for a cruise ship company several years ago.
They married in Europe and moved back to Victoria, where Marcus worked as a chef, and Mayang continued an apparently ongoing career as an escort. She advertised her services online to customers in Brisbane, where the couple lived for less than two months before their deaths.
While some friends and family recalled the couple as happy, others recalled Marcus as cold and Mayang as mercurial. It now appears that Marcus murdered Mayang and dismembered her body inside their Brisbane apartment.
He allegedly tried to dispose of her body by boiling pieces in chemicals, or by baking them in the oven. When his oven broke, he called a repairman who noticed that the carpet squished underfoot. Eventually neighbors found the smell emanating from the unit unbearable and called police.
On Saturday evening at 9 p.m., officers knocked on Marcus’ door, but he escaped over a balcony. Around the corner on Dath Street, Marcus apparently took his own life with a knife and died in a trash can. Police located his body around 10 p.m., dumped it out on the street and attempted to revive him with CPR, to no avail.
Mayang’s mother in Indonesia, who knew the deceased as her son Febri, said Mayang sent money home monthly to put her two younger siblings through school.
