Mob murder: Drowned man’s body finally recovered after 2 years, police caught killer

This month in Hangzhou, China, police were finally able to fish out the body of a Mongolian businessman who’d been murdered over two years ago.

Two years ago, the businessman identified by his last name Zhang, was murdered a debt he owed to a businessman named Hu. Zhang had only been able to pay a small portion of the debt he owed, so out of frustration Hu kidnapped and beat the Mongolian businessman.

After the beating, Hu and his underlings decided to lock Mr. Zhang in a metal cage and dumped the cage off the middle of a bridge over Hangzhou’s largest lake. The lake is the 2nd largest man-made lake in the world and is over 150 feet deep at its deepest point.

It would take police 6 months to capture Mr. Hu after he fled through six different countries. He was finally captured in Thailand after having traveled through Cambodia and India.

Once Mr. Hu was taken back to China, he confessed to the murder and told police where Mr. Zhang’s body had been dumped. Due to the depth of the lake it took police four attempts to raise the metal cage still containing the decomposed remains of the Mr. Zhang’s body.

Mr. Hu has also named his accomplices and 13 other individuals have been arrested in connection with the businessman’s murder.
