Vikings - Lagertha

Lagertha is my favorite character from the Vikings on the History channel.A small dedication video for her the actress who plays her Katheryn Winnick is a black belt in two different martial arts.She also helps choreograph the fights scenes for the show.Made using Action recorder and Sony Vegas from the Blu-Ray rendered in 1080p!
As epic as she is in the show the real life Lagertha was even more impressive. Did you know that the character Lagertha, Ragnar Lothbrok's wife, in History's Vikings is loosely based on a real historical figure?
Lagertha was, according to legend, a Danish Viking shieldmaiden from what is now Norway, and the onetime wife of the famous
Viking Ragnar Lodbrok (D. 840 or 865), Her tale, as recorded by the chronicler Saxo in the 12th century, may be a reflection of tales about Þorgerðr Hölgabrúðr, a Norse deity.
"Ladgerda, a skilled Amazon, who, though a maiden, had the courage of a man, and fought in front among the bravest with her hair loose over her shoulders. All marveled at her matchless deeds, for her lock flying down her back betrayed that she was a woman."
