Palestinians urgently need fuel after 9 year Israeli blockade

Palestinians are urging Arab Gulf countries and Western countries to send badly needed fuel to the Gaza Strip. Israel originally imposed the seige as a punitive measure after Palestinian resistance groups abducted Israeli soldier Gilal Shalit in 2006. Even though Shalit was released four years ago, the illegal siege continues to hit Gaza hard. In Israel's war on Gaza last summer, Israeli warplanes targetted Gaza's only power plant, which no longer functions. Now people must live with only two to four hours of electricity a day.
