Recently, two Americas tourists defaced the structure by carving two letters into one of the landmarks' walls.
The women, who are both in their 20s, had been with a tour group when they managed to sneak away and scratch the letters, 'J' and 'N', into the façade of the Colosseum with a coin.
Any such act is against the law at the historic site.
