Flight Attendant Allegedly Stole Thousands Of Dollars Intended For Charity

Port Authority officials found 5 thousand dollars in UNICEF donations, which included 700 pounds of change, stashed in the trunk of an American Airlines flight attendant.

When people give money to charities like UNICEF, even if it’s just the change rolling around in their pockets and handbags, they assume it’s going to do some good somewhere.

Sadly, donations don’t always make it to their destinations, and that appears to be the case in an incident involving an American Airlines flight attendant.

Port Authority officers found 5 thousand dollars in coins and notes from various countries stockpiled in the trunk of Marco Costa’s Ford Crown Victoria.

It’s suspected he’d gathered the money while working, as attendants for the airline often walk up and down the aisles with UNICEF collection buckets, the contents of which are intended to go to the humanitarian organization.

The discovery of Costa’s stash happened when authorities were investigating another matter entirely.
