Obama flies home from Hawaii vacation

U.S. President Barack Obama departed Honolulu on Saturday (January 3) after a two-week vacation with his family.

Several dozens of people gathered at the airport to see Obama and First Lady Michelle off.

Obama could be heard saying, "Happy New Year!," as he shook hands with those gathered.

He will arrive in Washington on Sunday (January 4).

On Wednesday (January 7), Obama will begin a tour of Michigan, Arizona and Tennessee.

He will highlight themes he intends to talk about in his annual State of the Union address to Congress which is set for Jan. 20.
