British actor Eddie Redmayne plays scientist Stephen Hawking, who meets and falls in love with Jane, played by Felicity Jones, before being diagnosed with motor neuron disease and given two years to live. But against all odds the couple marry and have three children before their divorce 30 years later, in 1995. The film is based on the memoir 'Travelling to Infinity: My Life with Stephen' by Jane Hawking, who met Stephen when they were both students at Cambridge University in the 1960s. Jones has received a Golden Globe nomination for her performance as Jane. Redmayne, who is nominated for a Golden Globe Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award for his performance as Hawking went to great lengths to perfect his depiction of the disabled physicist. 'The Theory of Everything' is scheduled for release in the UK on January 1, 2015.
