Phoenix, Brolin and Witherspoon at "Inherent Vice" premiere

"Inherent Vice" is the latest star-studded movie from Paul Thomas Anderson who also directed 'Boogie Nights' and 'There Will Be Blood'. It's the first Thomas Pynchon novel adaptation and it's about a private detective investigating the murder of his ex-girlfriend.

The cast, including Reese Witherspoon and Joaquin Phoenix, turned out for the Los Angeles premiere of the film, which has been receiving a lot of awards buzz. Sadly, there was one notable absentee - Paul Thomas Anderson.

So it was up to the actors, which included Josh Brolin, to big him up.
