MH17 wreckage convoy reaches Germany

A convoy of lorries carrying wreckage from the Malaysia Airlines plane downed in July over Ukraine has reached Germany on its way to the Netherlands for investigation.

It’s only part of the plane’s remains – much of the wreckage still lies in Ukrainian fields.

Due to driving restrictions the convoy can only move at night.

The plane came down on July 17 over eastern Ukraine, killing all 298 passengers and crew. Experts say the most likely cause was a ground-to-air missile fired from territory held by pro-Russian separatists.

Most of those on board were Dutch.
