Little Sun had its official launch at London's Tate Modern in July 2012 with a series of special events that lasted throughout the summer. In this short film (released in May 2013), Olafur Eliasson discusses Little Sun's launch and its related events: Tate Blackouts, Sunlight Graffiti, and Little Sun Films.

Artist Olafur Eliasson and engineer Frederik Ottesen developed the Little Sun solar-powered lamp to get clean, affordable light to the 1.2 billion people worldwide living without reliable electricity. Little Sun is a work of art that works in life.
