For a month however, the blonde beauty was noticeably absent from the program. 37-year-old Hasselbeck has just returned to her spot on the couch. She looked pretty happy to be back and told viewers why she had to take a leave from the show.
According to Hasselbeck, she encountered a potential health problem. She said that doctors found a tumor in her abdomen and feared it was cancerous.
Medical staffers informed her it would have to be removed before the month came to an end. Hasselbeck explained “I had a scary week when we didn’t know what the results were. But I'm okay…everything came back okay. Surgery’s not fun, but it is necessary to find out if you have something really terrible.”
The host also made sure to thank everyone in her life who supported her during the ordeal. In addition to her relatives and friends, she expressed gratitude towards her Fox family, who stood by her the entire time.
Aside from the emotional revelation, there were some bright spots to the show. One of which was that Hasselbeck got a surprise visit from former co-host of ‘The View’, Sherri Shepherd.
