The bubbly label he now owns is Armand de Brignac, more popularly known as Ace of Spades.
It’s sold in highly recognizable flashy, metallic bottles, and has a dazzling price tag to match.
The French luxury beverage runs about 300 dollars a bottle, and that’s just retail. Pick one up at a bar or club and expect it to be marked up accordingly.
Jay-Z has a long history with the house, having made it his drink of choice many years ago.
He switched to Ace of Spades from Cristal after that brand’s managing director lamented that American rappers were abusing the product. The director cited a number of misuses, including pouring the champagne over the bodies of models.
The sale of Ace of Spades has been confirmed by its previous owner, Sovereign Brands, but they declined to disclose how much money changed hands.
