Thai police search for suspects after two British tourists found dead on beach

A tropical beach on a Thai island has become a major crime scene.

Two British tourists were brutally murdered here on Koh Tao.

(SOUNDBITE) (Thai) COMMANDER OF SURAT THANI PROVINCIAL POLICE POLICE MAJOR GENERAL KIATTIPONG KHAOSAM-ANG SAYING:

"Now police have collected evidence at the scene such as a hoe which was used to attack the victims. We also have clothes, shoes that belong to the victims, as well as other evidence. Now we're processing all evidence for further investigation."

The bodies of David Miller and Hannah Witheridge have been taken to Bangkok for forensic analysis.

But on this island police are focussing their investigation on migrant workers from Myanmar.

Here officers collect DNA samples from the home of one worker.

The Thai Prime Minister has urged foreigners to be careful.
