"JEAN PAUL GAULTIER" feat. Conchita Wurst Paris Haute Couture Autumn Winter 2014 Full Show HD by Fashion Channel
Jean Paul Gaultier is known for closing his shows with a bang. This time, presenting the fall/winter 2014 haute couture collection, the extravagant designer recruited Austrian singer Conchita Wurst, the drag queen came to international attention when winning the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark, with the song "Rise Like a Phoenix".
Conchita was given the prestigious closing spot, a fashion honour usually bestowed on the designer favourite or most famous model, looked like a kabuki princess dressed up as a Gothic bride. She wore a black wedding gown with matching elbow length gloves and a black veil, all embellished with red and gold accents.
During the catwalk, Gaultier takes us to a world of mystery and sensuality as blood-sucking beauties take the stage in a flurry of gothic inspired designs.
The show starts off more demure than we are used to seeing from Gaultier allowing him to the gradually buildup suspense. Dramatic hoods, high necklines and masquerade masks accompanied harem pants and sequin gowns and jumpsuits.
One thing's for sure: Jean Paul Gaultier knows how to put on a show!
