This video presents the different Métiers d'Art at the Breguet Manufacture. For each one of the finish motifs, historically well rooted rules now govern the particular components upon which it may be used, the techniques and tools for creation, and the notions of what is and is not an acceptable final appearance. Let us examine some of the many motifs now a part of Breguet’s finishing palette : chamfering, carving, engraving, guillochage (engine turning), perlage (circular graining), Côtes de Genève (Geneva stripes), cerclage (circular graining), and polishing.
