SCRIPT
An unconfirmed number of inmates were freed by armed gunmen operating from inside and outside the Croix-des-Bouquets prison Sunday. Among the escapees was Clifford Brandt, a businessman imprisoned in 2012 on charges of kidnapping at least two children.
Local police have not revealed the number of escapees, but say they have been able to recapture 10 prisoners. Two police officers reportedly suffered bullet wounds in the attack.
Armed men attempted to break into the same prison facility four months ago, resulting in the death of one guard. The jail housed 899 prisoners in total.
