Ensure that the cap of the USB port is closed properly. Now press the start button for couple of seconds. Three dotted lines will appear on screen indicating that the data logger has started. The present temperature will be shown on screen and data is being recorded
For stopping the data logger, press the stop button for couple of seconds. The current reading will disappear and the word stopped will appear on screen
