Kayfabe Corner Match Of The Day: 4/21/2014 Lord Steven Regal vs. Bill Goldberg

This episode of Match Of The Day from 4/21/2014 looks back on a rather infamous encounter that occurred during an episode of WCW Monday Nitro. This match was during the height of Goldberg's winning streak, and Lord Steven Regal was supposed to go out and be made an example of by the newcomer Bill Goldberg. That's not exactly what happened however, mostly due to Regal choosing to use his amateur and shoot fight skills on Goldberg who at the time, was basically still a rookie. Goldberg was clearly out wrestled, even though he ended up winning the match. As a result, Lord Steven Regal was fired immediately following this match. Being fired by WCW would actually end up working in Regal's favor. A few months after this match he would go on to make his debut with the World Wrestling Federation which is where he has remained ever since. This match is from WCW Monday Nitro in El Paso, TX on February 9, 1998.
