Palestinian protesters clashed with Israeli military forces in Qalandia checkpoint on Friday (July 11), throwing stones and shooting fireworks.

Israeli troops responded with stun grenades.

The clashes took place as Israel continued a four-day offensive against Hamas militants in Gaza, and health officials said 11 Palestinians had been killed, most of them civilians, since Tuesday, (July 8) in Israel's offensive aimed at halting rocket fire at the Jewish state from coastal Gaza.

In Hebron, Palestinians marched the streets to protest the Israeli offensive.

In the West Bank city of Bethlehem, Palestinians fired fireworks towards an Israeli army base next to the security barrier.

Israel says militants in Gaza have fired more than 600 rockets at it during the campaign, striking deep into the country's heartland. The rockets have caused no serious casualties, but the barrages have paralysed business in southern communities
