The Six Flags Magic Mountain amusement park's roller coaster in the Valencia area of Los Angeles derailed on Monday, leaving at least a dozen riders stuck on the vehicle for nearly three hours and causing minor injuries to four people.

Following a fallen tree branch landing on the roller coaster tracks, the 'Ninja' roller coaster is said to have derailed, with one of the 28-seat capacity amusement carriages which is normally suspended beneath a track dangling at an angle.

Emergency workers at the scene removed all the people stranded aboard the roller coaster and led them to safety.
