Dutch Railway Museum Utrecht

  • 17 jaar geleden
The main attractions at the Dutch Railway Museum are the Worlds, immensely high studios in which trains play a prominent role. Each world has its own theme and is an experience in itself. The world of Black Magic begins in the steam era against a backdrop of English cottages. In the guise of an audio tour, the very first Dutch train driver tells visitors the story of how it all started.
Established in 1927, Dutch Railway Museum has since 1954 been housed in a former station in Utrecht, known as the Maliebaan. The 19th-century station on Maliebaan has been fully restored to its former glory. Here you feel like the first passenger in a recently completed station in 1874. The Royal Waiting Room from 1892 from the State Railway station in The Hague makes the station an example of stations of those days.
