Gay hate crime: Michigan woman beaten by three men, knocked out after TV wedding

A Michigan woman was attacked by a group of men who had seen her on a TV news report marrying another woman during a brief repeal of Michigan's gay marriage ban.
The unidentified 28-year-old got off a bus in Ypsilanti Township, outside Ann Arbor and was walking through a parking lot around 6 p.m. when three men approached her.
They recognized from TV and allegedly began yelling homophobic slurs at her. One of them allegedly next punched her in the face, knocking her unconscious to the ground.
She eventually regained consciousness, only to be kicked in the chest by one of the attackers, before they fled the scene on foot.
The sheriff's office described one of the suspects as a white man in his 20s, roughly 6-feet tall and heavyset, with a low or husky voice. The victim wasn't able to get a good look at the other two men.
The apartment complex where the attack took place doesn't have security cameras, say investigators, who hope someone will come forward with information.
The incident is being investigated as an assault case, but if found, the suspects could face hate-crime charges.
