Abuse claims cast shadow on UK labour laws

Filipino domestic workers in the UK are facing gross abuses at the hands of their employers from Gulf countries, according to Human Rights Watch. A new report suggests the exploitation is tantamount to slavery. But the UK government said it is standing by its visa rules, adding victims of labour abuse are protected under British rules.
